Half a Daybook
Well, so this daybook is rawwwther incomplete. I deleted half of the prompts because they were bugging me. It's been one of those days. I really felt like writing something, but nothing coherent formulated. Forgive the superficial daybook- I promise my actual thoughts are less shallow than this makes me appear!!
I am hearing.......
On my nightstand......
The pile of books keeps getting higher and messier.
The pile of books keeps getting higher and messier.
- My diary and my notebook,
- Othello and Brave New World (both for scholarship english)
- The Story of the Trapp Family Singers (again. I know. I'm pathetic)
- Joy in Suffering- a novena with St Therese of the Child Jesus
- My missal, YouCat and Bible
- The Screwtape Letters (which I still haven't finished! I ploughed through the first 27 chapters in a few days, and then promptly left off with four chapters to go. Who knows why?)
I am praying.....
For a culture of life. The Gosnell trial and conviction got about 24 seconds of coverage on the national news tonight. Even Angelina Jolie's double-mastectomy had more time. I'm
I am singing.......
OOh, I re-lyricised The Cup Song for Foy's House Competition Singing today. Will teach it to the rest of the house tomorrow. It's so sweet, the year 7s and 8s are going to tap the beat with bright yellow cups while the seniors sing. Bless!
One of my favourite things.....
New hair scrunchies!! It's almost ridiculous how excited I am by these. I haven't had new scrunchies in.... four years, maybe? For a year or so (after I cut my hair short) I didn't really need them, but now that it's too long to wear down at school any more I've been going through my old delasticated (not a word, but it should be) ones, which explode on a regular basis. Hmmm... explode isn't quite what I mean, but I can't find the right word. You know when a semi-elasticcy thing just goes 'ping-pop-fling' as you try to tame your mane with it?
Plans for the rest of the week......
We have Service Day on Thursday. I'm going with the choir and the other von Trapps to sing for the elderly. Hopefully, my voice will have recovered by then- I'm still hoarse and gross from the ball.
The other day as we were walking from class to rehearsal, Joe said to me, "You're just trying to hide how excited you are that we have rehearsal again, aren't you?" He knows me well. I MISS THE SHOW SO MUCH!!! It's nice to be back in the hills, if only for a little while. Hopefully we'll keep pulling out show numbers for school events throughout the year.
A picture thought......
I love this cute little doodle from The Catholic Girl's Survival Guide for the Single Years. It expresses my thoughts perfectly!!
