An oh-my-word it's July Daybook
Goodness me, is it actually July? Is Christmas actually getting closer as opposed to further away? Have we actually passed the shortest day? And is the school year more than half finished?
Holy mole.
Outside my window.....
Have I mentioned how much I love my rabbits, Callie and Ben? They're so unbelievably adorable.
I am thankful for.....
- Katrina- I love being surrounded by beautiful, funny, holy, amazing women- it's so much fun!
- God's love. Always.
I am thinking about......
The need for everyday holy people to instruct and care for future generations. We are the shapers today of the world of tomorrow.
Learning all the time.......
SOURCE ONE SUMMARY
Scientific Information
· The Carbon Cycle naturally removes atmospheric carbon and sequesters it in oceans for prolonged time periods. Phytoplankton play a key role in this process.
· These phytoplankton are reliant on nutrients and minerals, including iron (Fe) for growth and bloom.
· Research conducted by nine different iron fertilization experiments have verified that iron enrichment in HNLC (plankton deficient) areas has elevated productivity, plankton biomass and increased nutrient drawdown.
· Carbon, plankton blooms and ice ages are all interconnected.
· Solubility of iron in oceans must be monitored for maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
Debate in Favour
· Small-scale experiments have shown positive results for effectiveness.
Debate Opposed
· Inconclusive evidence as to whether large-scale programmes will produce positive results.
· Shifts in plankton community structure could be detrimental to ocean.
· Deep sea anoxia and marine life hypoxia could occur. Ocean oxygen levels could decrease, having detrimental effects on environment
· Alters nature’s cycles to an unknown extent.
On my nightstand......
- The Bible. :-)
- Emma- I'm in the very last couple of chapters, and Emma is having a profound examination and abhorrence of all her actions throughout the course of the novel, (Spoiler alert!) and is realising she is truly in love with Mr. Knightley. Oh dear Emma, you really are quite a frustrating character sometimes.
- My iPod. I love listening to stories and speeches- there's something about the spoken word that is so enchanting. Might listen to another talk from Hearts Aflame tonight.
I am creating......
Calm and peace in my busy busy mind.
I am working on.......
Getting all of my research assignments done before Samoa. Hopefully fully completing at least the Chemistry one before Friday, and the other two by the start of term.
I am praying.....
- In thanksgiving for every blessing God pours out upon me.
- For my future husband.
- For good health
I am hearing......
Water- raindrops on the roof, my father cleaning up the kitchen.
One of my favourite things.....
Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens.... wait, no, that's Julie Andrews' favourite things...
Good moisturiser!!!!!!!
Plans for the rest of the week......
Laugh more often. Get some exercise. Curl up by the fire with a good book (oh wait, I've already done that one. Constantly. For the past three days.)
Quote of the moment.....
Ruth said, “Do not urge me to leave you or to return from following you. For where you go I will go, and where you lodge I will lodge. Your people shall be my people, and your God my God. Where you die I will die, and there will I be buried. May the LORD do so to me and more also if anything but death parts me from you.”
Ruth 1:16-17
One of my very favourites. We sang a beautiful piece for choir a few years back called 'Song of Ruth' based on this verse, and I've loved it ever since. It truly speaks to me about veritable kindness, selflessness, loyalty and love.

P.S. If anyone knows how to troubleshoot blogger so that the past few posts can be saved from their state of visual agony, please, PLEASE let me know how.
Kate - that is a beautiful picture! I've never seen it before but I'd love to find a print and hang it in my kids' bedrooms (apostrophe after the s because that's precisely the way I meant it). Love the bunnies too!
